'Netojuu no Susume' Air Date, Spoilers: NEET's Real World and Game World Collide in Upcoming Rom-Com Anime Series

Morioka Moriko's previously uneventful life is about to get complicated when the Japanese anime series "Netojuu no Susume (Recommendation of the Wonderful Virtual Life)" premieres in October.

After dropping out of the real world, 30-year-old Morioka turns to the worldwide web for a safer, more fulfilling alternative life. Having been a NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) for a while now, the single woman soon finds comfort in online gaming.

This begins her online adventures as a refreshingly handsome young man named Hayashi. And although she's a total newbie, with her ending up dying several times, she would soon find her footing and subsequently starts enjoying the game after meeting a girl named Lily.

After Lily helps her get a good grasp of things around the game world, Morioka's online gaming life gradually becomes an enjoyable and satisfying experience. However, it is also at this point that she encounters a mysterious blonde-haired, blue-eyed elite salaryman named Yuuta Sakurai in real life.

Yuuta brings a new kind of experience to Morioka's reality, and his presence will soon affect even Morioka's online world.

Which side will Morioka choose to keep in the end: her fulfilling online persona or a reality with Yuuta in it?

The series is based on the popular gender-bending online rom-com web manga created by Rin Kokuyou. The manga series is currently serialized on the comico website.

On the other hand, the upcoming anime series is directed by Kazuyoshi Yaginuma and Saori Den, with animation done by Signal. MD for the production company flying DOG.

"Netojuu no Susume" premieres on Monday, Oct. 9, late night at 1:40 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX. Additional information on broadcast schedules and online resources will be available at a later date. The series will also be streamed on Crunchyroll in selected regions outside Japan under the title, "Recovery of an MMO Junkie."
