New Billboard Calls Harold Camping's Rapture Dud 'Awkward'

A new billboard making fun of Harold Camping's wrong prediction of the May 21 rapture went up Sunday in Greensboro, N.C., calling the situation "awkward."

Camping, president of Family Radio, said the rapture and Judgment Day would take place on May 21, 2011 at 6 p.m.

But humanity survived.

"That was awkward," reads the digital billboard, which includes a verse from Matthew 24:36 stating, "No one knows the day or the hour..."

The billboard was posted in response to Camping's billboard campaign that proclaimed May 21 to the be Judgment Day and directed the public to FM stations where locals could listen to Family Radio.

An online campaign organized by a user on news forum site reddit.com funded the Greensboro billboard, according to WGHP.
