Nexus 10 Vs. iPad 4: Picture Display Comparison

The Nexus 10 vs. iPad 4 war is a significant one for the Christmas shopping season as both of these devices are extremely high end and worth anyone's purchase. However, one of the main draws for the Nexus 10 over the iPad 4 seems to be its powerful display.

Samsung has employed PLS HD technology to create the screens for the Nexus 10 and according to a recent comparison test conducted by Google's Romain Guy, the Nexus 10 could be a strong rival to Apple's famous Retina display technology.

He recently snapped two pictures using a DSLR camera of the Nexus 10 tablet side by side with a magazine and showed that there was barely any difference when looking at the actual magazine and looking at that same magazine on the Nexus 10's screen. He also highlighted that there was low reflectivity on the tablet's screen.

The Nexus 10 screen has a 2560x1600 with 300ppi. It is 10.1-inches big and has 4 million pixels.

Apple's Retina display on the iPad 3 and 4 has slightly lower specifications. The display on the tablet has a 2048x1536 resolution with 264ppi. It is 9.7-inches and has about 3 million pixels.

Guy decided not to show how the iPad 4 looked next to a magazine in the picture, but judging solely from specifications, the Nexus 10 does in fact have the advantage.

However, this does not negate the fact that before the Nexus 10 was launched, the iPad 3 had the most impressive display in the market making gaming and pictures look amazing on its screen.

Both tablets are extremely impressive and cost around the same amount of money.

For those contemplating the two devices, it should be remembered that the Nexus 10 currently only comes as a Wi-Fi model, where as the iPad 4 is available in both Wi-Fi and 3G/4G.

The Nexus 10 also runs Android 4.2, JellyBean software while the iPad 4 runs iOS 6.
