Protests have escalated in Hong Kong after a Christian student died from injuries he sustained after falling from a parking garage where police officers clashed with protesters last week amid violent anti-government demonstrations.

Police said some protesters have “shot arrows dipped in gasoline and lit on fire,” and have even used “electric saws” to target their officers. On Wednesday, police used a boat to evacuate students from mainland China who were studying at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which is now barricaded by protesters and has been the scene of violent clashes.

Last week, 22-year-old Chow Tsz-lok, a second-year computer science undergraduate at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, died from his injuries after he fell from the third floor to the second floor of a car park in Tseung Kwan O on Nov. 4 while police carried out a dispersal operation nearby with rounds of tear gas. Doctors performed two operations at Queen Elizabeth Hospital to stop the swelling in his head. However, Chow succumbed to cardiac arrest and died on Nov. 8.

Numerous vigils were held across the city in honor of Chow, with a moment of silence to commemorate the late student.

— Parents of 9-month-old baby given 10 days to keep her on life support before hospital shuts off

A judge has ordered a children's hospital in Texas to keep a 9-month-old baby on a ventilator to help her breathe after the hospital wanted to take her off life support. Baby Tinslee Lewis was born premature and has a rare heart defect called Ebstein's anomaly. She’s been cared for at the intensive care unit at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth since she was born.

Doctors at Cook Children's Hospital maintain that the baby’s condition cannot be reversed and say that she is in pain. The hospital notified the family on Sunday that life support would be removed unless they could find another hospital willing to admit her. The judge’s temporary restraining order gives the family until November 22 to find another hospital that will admit the baby for ongoing treatment.

— Wisconsin passes resolution to observe ‘National Bible Week’

The Wisconsin state legislature has overwhelmingly passed a resolution declaring the week of Thanksgiving to be “National Bible Week.” The Wisconsin Assembly voted on Tuesday to approve Assembly Resolution 16, which calls for the observation. Nine Democratic lawmakers voted against the resolution.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt first declared National Bible Week in 1941 and the nation continues to observe the week of Thanksgiving as National Bible Week. The Madison-based atheist group the Freedom From Religion Foundation denounced the resolution in a statement released before the vote was taken. The group argued that the resolution was an endorsement of Christianity over other religions and would make other citizens feel like second-class citizens.

Former abortion provider: 'I killed more people than Ted Bundy'

A former abortionist who performed as many as 1,000 abortions said she came to the shocking revelation one day that she had killed more people than serial killer Ted Bundy, the only difference was her actions were legal.

In an episode of “The Van Maren Show” on Life Site News, former abortion provider Dr. Kathi Aultman told host Jonathon Van Maren that before her awakening, she “didn’t see the fetus as any different from the chicken embryos she dissected in college.”

Aultman said she began to have doubts about performing abortions when she worked at a neo-natal intensive care unit where she was trying to save babies who were the same age as babies she was aborting. Later on, she said she saw herself as a mass murderer, stopped doing abortions and joined the pro-life movement.
