Ramah

Yasmine Al-Bustami, who plays Ramah, the fictional female follower of Jesus and the love interest of Thomas, discussed her character's journey and the difficult decisions she must make in season 4.

“Ramah follows her gut,” she says. “So whatever she feels is it. It’s not even a question of right or wrong, it's more like, 'This is where I should go,' and so she just goes there and figures it out whenever she is on the path as she gets there. It’s beautiful to watch her share that with Thomas because obviously, she has a lot of interaction with him. And of course, the way he's going about the whole experience is very different than the gusto that she has, with the experience, and I think her journey, with mainly her dad, which is the difficult thing that she was struggling with.

So if there was anything that felt kind of teetering, in a way, it would be that relationship, but she really did always feel so strongly about the path that she chose to follow Jesus. And that's why you see that decision that she makes between Jesus and her dad, which is not an easy decision.”
