Noah James, who stars as Andrew, shared insights into his emotionally intense scenes and the transformation he’s experienced as an actor over the years.

“In season one, Andrew says, ‘The Romans don't matter. Nothing matters; the Messiah has arrived, anything is possible now, and I don't understand why my brother is not quite seeing that,’” he said.

“But what we realize is, just because Jesus has arrived, that doesn't make life easy. Not all the questions are answered. If anything, it becomes more tumultuous, it becomes more difficult in some ways. There's a lot of wrestling with, ‘I understand this message, I'm trying to integrate it into my life. But all around, wherever we look, people are attacking us, people are wanting us to stop. How do we deal with that?’ And I think that you notice, all the disciples try to reconcile, ‘How do I live the life as I know I should, with all the pressure around me?’”

James, who is Jewish, said he initially had concerns about joining the cast of "The Chosen," but was pleasantly surprised to find that he was warmly welcomed, which opened his eyes to the message of love and acceptance that the show promotes.

“I was pretty nervous about entering into that space, and was met with totally open arms, like the opposite of what I was fearful of,” he said. “And it really opened my eyes; so much of the message is about love about acceptance. To me, I was like, ‘Wow, I want to be a part of this family telling this story.’

"We all, no matter what walk of life or belief system we have, just try to tell the story the best way we possibly can and bring our gifts and our love to it. I think that's why the show has resonated, because we're doing the best to tell it as authentically and humanly as possible.”
