'The Last Man on Earth' Season 2 News, Update: Jason Sudeikis Returns As Mike Miller

Fox's surprising small screen offering, "The Last Man on Earth" is now ready to kick off its sophomore season in the next two weeks but details about the new set of episodes are still scarce, except perhaps for some new casting details.

Citing the report from the International Business Times, former "Saturday Night Live" cast, Jason Sudeikis, recently sat down in one of the newest episodes of the "Late Night With Seth Meyers" show.

Sudeikis, who plays the role of Mike, Phil's (Will Forte) astronaut brother, dished out that he's "definitely coming back next season [2]." When asked further, the actor chose to remained mum on the details but still managed to divulged that his character is "definitely in space" as he wears "a very unforgettable harness" in one of the latest shoots.

Speaking further, the "We're The Millers" star admits that he knows "a little bit about why" Mike remains stranded in space but "there is this whole back half of a season that I don't know anything," he told Meyers (via IBT).

The series star himself teased earlier that there's a possibility that Sudeikis will be returning in Season 2.

"I don't see him being up in space forever. He used to live in Tucson as well, so it seems natural that he might try to go back and see what's going on with his hometown," Forte said during the most recent San Diego Comic-Con affair.

For the uninitiated, the show follows the adventures of Phil as the titular last person in the face of the planet. The series is set a year after what seems to be a deadly virus wipes out the entire population with only but him remaining. Progressing into the series, Phil soon realized that a few other people were also able to survive the global wipe-out.
