2. Over 50 arrested; Marines mobilized to support

At least 56 people were arrested over the weekend, according to an updated report from NBC News on Monday. Following President Donald Trump's order, around 300 National Guard members are in the city to protect federal properties. In addition to the National Guard, about 500 U.S. Marines are also ready to deploy.
The Los Angeles Police Department said that various law enforcement agencies arrested dozens of people on multiple charges, according to KNBC. The charges include suspicion of attempted murder, looting, arson, failure to disperse, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and other offenses.
Demonstrators blocked the 101 Freeway and set fire to Waymo cars in downtown Los Angeles, as the local news outlet reported.
Downtown Los Angeles still showed signs of a protest on Monday morning, according to KNBC. Graffiti covered multiple buildings, and businesses had broken glass and looted shelves.
