Trump's week in review: Nat'l Prayer Breakfast, TrumpRx, guidance on religious expression in public schools

5. Trump launches TrumpRx.gov
In a fact sheet published Thursday, the White House announced the launch of TrumpRx.gov, a new website designed to give Americans access to “large discounts on many of the most popular and highest-priced medicines in the country, paying prices in line with the lowest paid by other developed nations (known as the most-favored nation, or MFN, price).”
Currently, only drugs made by five manufacturers are available for purchase on the website: AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, EMD Serono, Novo Norodisk and Pfizer.
The 40 drugs currently available on the website include two medications that help Americans with diabetes and heart disease: Ozempic and Wegovy. Ozempic will see its monthly price fall from $1,028 to an average price of $350, while the monthly price of the injectible Wegovy will decrease from $1,349 to as low as $199. The monthly price of the Wegovy pill could decrease to as low as $149.
The prices of fertility drugs Cetrotide and Ovirdrel will fall from $316 to $22.50 and $251 to $84, respectively. The inhaler Bevespi Aerosphere will cost $51 rather than $458. Similarly, the inhaler Airsupra will cost $201 rather than $504.
Another drug currently available for purchase at a greatly reduced price is Eucrisa, a topical ointment for atopic dermatitis, which will shrink from $752 to $158. Meanwhile, the price for Duavee, a medication used to treat hot flashes and osteoporosis, will see its price reduced from $202 to $30. Additional drugs are expected to be available on the website in the near future.
