'Call of Duty: WWII' News: Game's London Multiplayer Map and New Gridiron Mode Revealed

Good news has come for those who are excited about the release of "Call of Duty: WWII" because it is coming in three weeks. Plus, developer Sledgehammer Games has just revealed new images from the game's new London multiplayer map and announced the new Gridiron mode.

The said new map is set by the London Docks, and based on the images released, it looks like it has been heavily battered by explosions. As seen on the VideoGamer report, it also features the popular Routemaster buses, which are considered as one of the city's icons. One of the images also shows a Wharf Cafe & Pub, which has been converted to an air raid shelter.

The city of London is no stranger to the franchise, though. It was previously featured in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," which was released way back in 2011.

Gridiron, on the other hand, is said to be inspired by the Uplink mode from "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," which was the franchise's offering in 2014. However, the mode has been made slightly different to coincide with the game's 1940s setting. This time around, players would carry and toss an old leather football instead of a technologically advanced satellite drone. There has yet to be a confirmation if Gridiron will make any more changes to the Uplink mode.

In another image released by Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer Games, it shows that Gridiron will take place in the London Underground, which was used as air raid shelters in World War II.

Last week, another map was also revealed. The Carentan, according to GameSpot, was first introduced in the original "Call of Duty" game and has been remade for the new installment. However, this new map will be available only to the season pass holders.

"Call of Duty: WWII" will be officially released on Nov. 3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
