Jenna Dewan-Tatum: Channing is 'Amazing' Father, Beatboxes for Baby
Jenna Dewan Tatum sat down with Ellen DeGeneres when she talked about her husband Channing taking care of their baby girl this week. The 32-year-old actress and her husband welcomed their first child on May 31st in London.
While promoting her new television series "Witches of East End," Dewan-Tatum appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday. There, the actress discussed how she and her superstar husband were adjusting to life with baby Everly, and said that Channing made an "amazing" father.
"He's so sensitive," Dewan-Tatum explained to DeGeneres during the show. "He's like this really strong big guy in life but you give him this little baby and he's like, 'Oh my God … Is she going to drop? Am I doing everything ok?' He's like the most amazing diaper changer."
Furthermore, Tatum has developed a signature way to soothe baby Everly when she is crying- by using vocal percussion in the form of beat boxing.
"Yeah, as new moms know- that baby is crying and you're like what do I do to make her stop crying and all of the sudden he starts beat boxing and [the baby coos] … She falls asleep in his arms," said Dewan-Tatum.
"Still to this day, we beat box what we're doing during the day," the actress added.
"I would like to see a video of that," DeGeneres replied during the clip. Watch a video of the interview " target="_blank">here.
Although the baby is just a four-month-old, Everly already resembles her Hollywood parents. A month after the "thrilled" parents announced her arrival, the pair posted of photo of the newborn on Twitter, revealing a striking resemblance.
In the months that followed Everly's arrival, Dewan-Tatum often updated her Twitter followers on her adjustment to motherhood.
"Is there anything better than a cuddle nap with your baby," the proud new mom posted to Twitter in July. "Ahhhh love!"
Nevertheless, the new mom quickly resumed work on set of the television series "The Witches of East End."
The show premieres on Lifetime this Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10 p.m. EST.
As for the future for their family, Everly will likely not be the only child for Dewan-Tatum and her husband.
"The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that," Tatum said ahead of his daughter's arrival, according to People magazine.
