'Pokémon Go' Legendary Birds Expected to Arrive in 2017, But When Exactly Will Fans See Them?

Niantic CEO John Hanke recently confirmed that the Legendary Birds will be introduced inside 'Pokémon Go' this year

Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos, the Pokémon better known as the Legendary Birds, are not present inside "Pokémon Go" just yet, but that is finally expected to change this year.

There are many reasons why players expect the Legendary Birds will show up sooner rather than later.

Perhaps the most significant of which is that Niantic CEO John Hanke himself even indicated that this is the plan.

Speaking not too long ago to Wired Germany, Hanke commented on the availability of the Legendary Birds as well as two other sought-after Pokémon in Mew and Mewtwo.

According to a translation of the interview provided by Nintendo Everything, Hanke mentioned with "certainty" that more of those elusive creatures will be seen within this year.

Unfortunately, Hanke left out exactly when these Legendary Pokémon would be added to the augmented reality game.

Still, even if there is no currently set date of arrival for Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos and even Mew and Mewtwo, there are some important dates on the calendar that could be worth at least remembering for "Pokémon Go" players who are hoping they will be able to find these new creatures soon.

One date on the calendar that stands out as potentially an ideal day to introduce the Legendary Birds and Mew and Mewtwo is July 6, otherwise known as the day when the extended official launch of the mobile game began in different countries including the United States.

Marking the first year anniversary of the game's official release by finally coming out with the Legendary Pokémon seems like a good way to celebrate the occasion, and that could also be a great way to drum up more interest and perhaps even lure back in some lapsed players.

For now, "Pokémon Go" players will just have to continue waiting for the Legendary Pokémon, but at the very least, they know that this extended test of endurance will be coming to an end before 2017 wraps up.
