'Power Rangers: Legacy Wars' News: Game Releases Later This Month; Gameplay Details Revealed

The highly anticipated real-time multiplayer fighting game "Power Rangers: Legacy Wars" will be released this month before the "Power Rangers" film hits the theater, but players in Brazil and Canada can already get their hands on the game.

For gamers in the rest of the world, they will have to wait until March 23, just before the "Power Rangers" movie finds its way to the big screen, to be able to experience the game.

"Power Rangers: Legacy Wars" spans the entire almost three-decade-old franchise and features classic Rangers and villains from the earliest installments of "Power Rangers" down to the upcoming film.

"Power Rangers: Legacy Wars" will see players stop the plans of the space witch Rita Repulsa, who has infected the Morphin Grid to destroy the legacy of the Power Rangers and ultimately eliminate them. In the process, she endangers the whole multiverse.

The rest of the description for the highly-anticipated game reads:

"It is up to you to enter the Morphin Grid, defeat Rita Repulsa and re-establish the connection to the Power. But it is no easy task. Rita has been able to manipulate the reality inside the Grid and create virtual Ranger clones and monsters programmed to fight for evil!"

Zordon will provide "Power Rangers: Legacy Wars" special Zeo Shards to defeat Rita. Gamers will have to assemble a team of villains or Rangers from all over the multiverse for the mission.

In the game, players can unlock new Rangers and upgrade the best fighters for better chances of successfully defeating the space witch.

According to iDigital Times, unlike the traditional fighting game, "Power Rangers: Legacy Wars" is less about mashing buttons and combinations during the battle and instead offers a button for three attacks.

Yellow attacks are basic, red attacks are more powerful but time-consuming while blue attacks are all about defense. When using them, their corresponding points will be subtracted from the players' available energy points pool, which can they regain over time.
