"He's a bit of an antagonist to be honest. The reference from these boys over here – the Duffer Brothers – was kind of like Jack Nicholson in The Shining," 22-year-old Montgomery told the outlet.

"Somebody with an unpredictable nature. Somebody who sort of unnerves the audience. A bit of spice placed in this amazing recipe that has been so tasty and has been so successful. He blows through town. He comes from out of town from California. He ruffles a few feathers and I think that sums him up without giving too much away," he added.

As for what pushed him to take the role, the actor said that it was the stark difference between his "Power Rangers" character, who was a protagonist, and this new antagonistic character, that attracted him to join the cast.

In other news, Netflix has apparently hidden an easter egg in the "Stranger Things" season 2 promo on the website. Upon clicking on the red orb located at the rightmost area of the promotional image, users will be taken into the "Upside Down."

Mimicking the Upside Down in the series, the screen goes dark, a heart beat and other creepy sounds play, and lights start to flicker. After a while, something pops up, which might have something to do with the upcoming sophomore season of the hit series.

"Stranger Things" season 2 premieres on Friday, Oct. 27, on Netflix.

The series stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, David Harbour, Natalia Dier, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and more.
