1. Good was a mom of 3 who moved to Minneapolis last year

Renee Nicole Good was a 37-year-old wife and mother of three, who was previously married to Timmy Ray Macklin Jr., until his death in 2023 at age 36, according to The Minnesota Star Tribune.

A former podcaster with her late husband, Good was living with her partner in Minneapolis and had a child from her previous marriage, plus two other children with an unnamed partner.

Good’s ex-husband told The Associated Press that Good had just dropped off her 6-year-old son at school with her current partner on Wednesday when they encountered the ICE agents. The ex-husband, who didn't want to be named, claimed that Good and her partner moved from Kansas City, Missouri, to Minneapolis last year.

The National News Desk reports that the alleged wife of Good was seen filming the encounter outside the SUV when Good was shot. In the aftermath, the alleged wife was seen slumped over Good. She was quoted as saying, “I made her come down here, it’s my fault."

"They just shot my wife," the woman was quoted as saying.

Donna Ganger, Good’s mother, told the Star Tribune that it was “so stupid” that her daughter was killed and denied that she was involved in any anti-ICE protests or domestic terrorism.

“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” said Ganger. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”

Macklin’s father, Timmy Ray Macklin Sr., told The Star Tribune that Good was the only parent in his 6-year-old grandson's life and plans to travel to pick up his grandson. Macklin believes that Good's two other children live with extended family members.
