2. Called Jesus' claim to be the Son of God 'garbage'

One of Sheafe's most startling claims during the interview was his denial of the deity of Jesus as a biblical ground for the execution. Sheafe blamed pastors who are "leading the flock astray" by teaching that Jesus is God who appeared in human flesh.

"All the preachers, in my perspective, are leading the flocks astray," he said. "They're preaching that Jesus is God's only son and God also. That's not what God said. Very clearly, he said that he alone is God."

For that reason, Sheafe added, taking the life of Schonemann and potentially other victims was justified.

"If anybody is to preach that anyone other than Him is God, we are to stone them to death, or we are to execute them, and so I'm following that law," he explained.

In fact, because he believes Adam was "God's one and only created son in his image," Sheafe said he planned to kill 13 priests, and the 14th victim would be for Adam.

When Whitney pressed him on the question of whether murder is a sin, Scheafe responded: "Well, yeah, it is a sin, but God also commanded us to execute anyone that's preaching that someone other than him is God because it's that serious. They're claiming that Jesus is God and that somebody other than God is God. So what's this 'Jesus is only God's son' garbage that I was raised to believe? That's not what God said."

Sheafe appeared to challenge the altar calls of many Evangelical churches across America, adding, "'Oh, all you got to do is just worship Jesus and you go to Heaven, your sins are all forgiven.' That's not what God said."

Later in the interview, Whitney tells Sheafe, "I mean, it's likely you'll be in prison for the rest of your life."

"That's what you think," he responded. "I want the death penalty because I want to show you, you can't kill God's son. That whole story is BS."
