HUD discriminated against Christian employees

The task force found that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development allegedly discriminated against Christian employees in 2023 by demanding the removal of social media posts from a HUD account celebrating Christian holidays, despite allowing non-Christian employee holiday posts to remain, including LGBT pride month.

The report also detailed the story of a HUD employee who was repeatedly denied promotion and suffered other discrimination after complaints were lodged against the employee for having a cross and Bible in their cubicle.

"Religious discrimination will not be tolerated — especially anti-Christian bias that goes against America's foundational values," Scott Turner, current secretary of HUD, said in response to the findings of the report.

Turner delivered a prayer at the Religious Liberty Commission hearing earlier this week that rededicated the U.S. to God and invoked his blessing in the months leading up to the 250th anniversary of independence.
