Casey Anthony Trial: Jury Finds Casey Not Guilty of Murdering Her Daughter

Casey Anthony was found not guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony.

Casey Anthony started tearing up upon hearing the "not guilty" verdict in the charge of first-degree murder. After all the verdicts were read, Anthony hugged her lawyers. While Judge Belvin Perry read the verdicts back to Casey, she continued to cry.

The jury announced their verdict at 2:15 p.m. ET in a court session that was broadcast live.

Defense attorneys claimed that Caylee Anthony died after she accidentally drowned in the family pool.

Prosecutors said that Casey Anthony deliberately killed her daughter and buried her body in the woods near the family home.

Anthony pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Jury deliberations began Monday after 46 days of trial. The verdict was delivered by 12 jurors.

Judge Perry scheduled the sentencing for the charges of providing false information for Thursday morning.

Perry told jurors that they have the right to speak or not to speak about their deliberations to the public or the media.
