Cordell Broadus and UCLA Football Scholarship: Snoop Dog's Sons Venture Off

Snoop Dog may have to go on the other end of things and sit in the fan section for once if his son Cordell Broadus accepts the football scholarship offered to him by UCLA.

The University of California in Los Angeles recently extended an offer to Cordell Broadus, 6'2 wide receiver, defensive back, and son to Snoop Dog himself.

The rapper has coached youth football for the past eight years and apparently his time has paid off. While Broadus is only in his Sophomore year of high school, he has already received a football scholarship offer from UCLA.

Broadus was picked up despite having to deal with a transfer in his freshman year from Long Beach Poly to Diamond Bar high school.

"The move was difficult when it first happened, meeting new friends and a new team," Broadus told ESPN in May. "It's been good ever since. The competition level at Long Beach Poly is a whole lot different than it is down here, but I've learned that it's all on me and how hard I work."

Head Diamond Bar coach Ryan Maine spoke well of the player and his abilities.

"We're expecting him to really lead us the next three years," Maine said. "Hopefully [our athletes] get bigger, stronger and keep leading this team."

Snoop Dog's eldest son is also venturing off and plans to head into the music business like his father. The rapper stated that he was proud of both.

"Both my boys had normal existences," Snoop Dogg said according to the ESPN. "No real drama in the house. No real drama outside. They are all good."

The rapper also hopes to help his eldest son along with his music career.

"I've been taking him into the music studios this whole summer because he has that ear," Snoop Dogg said. "I could easily see him following in my footsteps. He is learning the ropes right now, and I can see him taking over this game."
