3. Sen. Tom Cotton

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., first arrived on Capitol Hill as a U.S. Representative from Arkansas in 2013, meaning that he never served with Lieberman. Still, he took to X Wednesday to praise the late statesman.

“Joe Lieberman loved our country and dedicated his life in service to it,” Cotton stated. “He was a patriot who [believed] in a strong, confident America. I appreciated his friendship and advice over the years.”

Cotton indicated that his wife and the residents of his state were “mourning his loss, celebrating his life, and sending our prayers to his family.”
