Justin Bieber Baby Mama: Despite Rumors, Yeater Has Not Dropped Lawsuit

Various media sources reported today that Justin Bieber’s alleged baby mama, Mariah Yeater, dropped her paternity suit against the singer, but the rumor was revealed as false.

TMZ erroneously reported this morning that the California mother had quietly dropped all charges against the Canadian pop star last week. Amid controversies about her credibility, it was readily accepted by the national media, and subsequently propagated.

However, Jeffery Leving, the newest addition to Yeater’s legal team, debunked that gossip today. The attorney confirmed with WGN Morning News that the lawsuit would continue as originally planned.

“Negotiations are going on right now with Bieber’s counsel and we’re trying to negotiate a private, secure DNA test with the same safeguards that would exist if there were a court order, but without a court order,” said Leving to the news station.

Yeater, 20, insists that she and Bieber had unprotected sex in the backstage bathroom of one of his concerts last year. She claims that the tryst only lasted 30 seconds, but that was long enough for Bieber to impregnate her.

When she discovered she was pregnant, she contacted Justin and his representatives several times, only to be ignored.

“I tried to contact [Bieber] through his representatives but no one ever called me back,” said the San Diego mother to Star magazine.

After the child was born in July, Yeater decided to draw public attention to the case by filing a lawsuit, demanding that Bieber “provide adequate support for [her] baby.”

Almost immediately, Justin’s lawyers released a statement, calling the accusations, “malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false.” Bieber claimed to have never met Yeater before.

As the days grew to weeks, Yeater’s various indiscretions chipped away at her verisimilitude, causing many to question whether her story rang true. She allegedly accused another man, an ex-boyfriend, of fathering the child before.

In addition, she was involved in a domestic violence dispute that made the details of the case even more confusing.

Bieber’s camp was not willing to settle with Yeater, even when she challenged the teen singer to take a DNA test. Bieber’s camp agreed.

“My goal is that when the DNA test is completed, which I believe it will be…my goal is to keep everything confidential so the results will remain confidential,” Leving told WGN.
