Pictures from the Plano-Texas Conference
The largest network of conservative Episcopal leaders, representing over a tenth of the denomination, successfully finished the first day of their long awaited conference in Plano, Texas, where they discussed the adoption of an organizational charter for their group, Monday, Jan. 19, 2004.
Following the first day of the tight-lipped, high profile conference, the Episcopal Bishop Robert Duncan of Pittsburgh attended a news conference for the media. Bishop Duncan is the temporary head of the “Network of Anglican Communion Diocese and Parishes,” – a group that can possibly replace the current-day Episcopal Church.
The leaders of the 12 dioceses gathered on behalf of conservative Episcopalians opposed to a gay bishop’s consecration last November and other liberal trends toward in the U.S. branch of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
