Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon Launch Scheduled for May 30

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in Verizon retail locations and in the carrier's online store starting May 30.

Customers interested in pre-ordering the device through Verizon can do so online at this time. The carrier will offer the device for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year agreement.

Samsung is also planning to release several variants of the Galaxy S4 as a photo of what is believed to be the Mini version leaked onto the internet this week.

The handset in the picture looks almost identical to its big brother, but it has a black body. The specifications are also quite different as the smaller version is less powerful.

Specifications for the device include an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch-focus, and face detection. The smaller version of the flagship is expected to launch shortly the regular version.

Other rumored specs for the handset include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD 960 x 540 display with a pixel density of 256 ppi. It will also come with a 1.6GHz dual-core processor and will run Android 4.2.2, JellyBean, according to a report from SamMobile.

The Galaxy S4 comes with a Full HD 1080p display, 13-megapixel camera and either a quad-core or octa-core processor depending on the region it is released in.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to be unveiled very soon and will launch in both LTE and dual SIM versions.

The LTE and single SIM versions have been appearing all over the official Samsung website. The model number for the single SIM version is GT-i9190, while the number for the LTE edition is i9195. The model number for the dual SIM version is GT-i9192.

The device is expected go on sale starting late May or early June and will come in two different colors: black and white. Pricing information is not yet available for the handset.
