'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Corey Sligh Attacked on Thanksgiving

"The Young and the Restless" actor Corey Sligh was beaten by two men on Thanksgiving. The incident occurred while the soap actor was on his way to deliver food to a friend. His girlfriend, Alisa Berhost, was with him at the time and described what happened to KCAL9's Laurie Perez.

"[The assailants] almost hit people in the parking lot. They were hitting curbs, and Corey said, 'Please slow down or we're gonna call the cops, just go home,'" said Berhost.

Police officers told ABC News that the men hit Sligh with their car, then got out to fight him.

"The guy walked up on him like, 'I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who's it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away,'" Berhost said to Perez. After the two men beat up Sligh, they reportedly left the scene and crashed their vehicle.

Sligh posted a picture from his hospital bed on Nov. 28 and captioned it, "Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don't have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver! Have a surgery to go and another couple of days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this planet! Love y'all!"

Sligh has a recurring role in "The Young and the Restless" as a waiter/bartender in Genoa City. In an interview with The Wrap, the actor said, "It was pretty scary on the hood of that car, but I'm happy to still be able to move my neck. I'm happy to have the problem of relearning to walk instead of not being able to walk at all. I'm pretty blessed."

Recently, it was reported that Sligh has been released from Cedars-Sinai hospital and the two men who assaulted him have been charged with battery.

"People can be cruel, but I'm not going to worry about it," said Sligh in the same interview with The Wrap. "I'm just trying to get back to normal … I have no hatred for these guys."
