Tim Tebow Is Doing A Good Job, Here is Why

Tim Tebow’s read option offense, limited passing yardage and inability to play in the first three quarters of a game have caused some to question his success as a quarterback, but the Denver Broncos’ starter began to answer doubts after a Thursday night win against the Jets.

In the Broncos’ three past wins, Tebow has only thrown for a total of 297 yards. Some feel his issues with throwing are signs of his weakness as a quarterback, and former Colts coach Tony Dungy spoke out about it on Friday.

“They're going to have to get some more passing game, some way," Dungy said on the Dan Patrick Show Friday. "To win those big games, you're going to have to complete some third-down passes, you're going to have to be able to get some explosive games in the passing game."

However, Tebow seemed confident in his abilities beyond passing when speaking to NFL networks recently. Although the Christian QB admitted that passing was not his greatest strength, he said that QBs should not pride themselves on passing alone.

"I'm trying to work on it and consistently play better,” Tebow said. “I think the most important thing for a QB is decision making. I think that's what separates good QBs from bad QBs and good QBs from great QBs."

Aside from his passing game, many have criticized Tebow’s read option offensive scheme. However, the second year QB said many people have a misconception about the Broncos’ use of their offensive schemes.

"I don't think our goal is to be the best option team ever,” Tebow said. “Our goal is to keep the defense off balance and if that’s one more thing they have to practice for every week than I think we're doing our job."

Despite criticizing Tebow and the Broncos earlier in the week, Darrelle Revis was forced to admit that Denver QB was doing a great job with his team.

“(Tebow) is a great football player. We felt like we had him where we wanted him,” Revis said. “Those legs he's got brought the Denver Broncos home. He did it. Tim Tebow did it."
