Anna Chlumsky Baby Arrives, 'Veep' Star Welcomes Daughter
Anna Chlumsky and her husband Shaun So welcomed their first child, a daughter, earlier this month.
The 32-year-old best known for her child stardom achieved after portraying Vada Sultenfuss in 1991's hit movie "My Girl" opposite of Macaulay Culkin.
Today, the actress stars in HBO's "Veep" alongside "Seinfeld" actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale from "Arrested Development."
On Thursday, July 11, Chlumsky and her entrepreneur husband, also 32, welcomed daughter Penelope Joan So in New York City, according to People magazine.
The new parents have been married for five years and are overjoyed with their "perfect" baby girl.
"She's a really good mix between my husband and me," explained Chlumsky to People. "When she's with him, you see him, and when she's with me, you see me. She's a perfect mix."
The actress added, "We think she has my mouth, but it's hard to tell. Even the color of her eyes, they are different in different light. But she has a really full head of hair."
Baby Penelope was not the only happy news in Chlumsky's household recently. The starlet just received her first Emmy Award nomination for her role on "VEEP" this week.
"I'm still in shock," she said of the recognition. "I just laughed a lot! It feels really great to have your work noticed."
Not surprisingly, the "My Girl" star is relishing in all of the good news.
"I'm really, really happy," she said to People. "I'm just smiley. I have this new bundle of love that's now in my life. She has made my life even better."
As for "Veep," Chlumsky portrays a chief of staff to the Vice-president, played by Dreyfus, on the comedy series. Created by Armando Iannucci, "Veep" is based on the BBC television sitcom "The Thick of It," and follows the life of a fictional U.S. vice president.
