'Fable Legends' Open Beta Coming Spring 2016

Fans of the adventure role-playing video game "Fable Legends" were disappointed to hear that the game developer Lionhead Studios has delayed the open beta of the game to sometime spring 2016, instead of the original December schedule. According to a report in IGN, the developer decided to extend the game's closed beta to "make it even better."

The game is currently undergoing closed beta and was scheduled to do an open beta before the holidays. According to a report in Tech Times, with the closed beta extended, around 100,000 more gamers will be able to take part in the closed beta within the next few weeks. Lionhead Studios said in their statement that they have "decided to extend our closed beta to continue to listen to feedback from our players and add features and polish that will make a real difference."

According to the Tech Times report, the developer admitted that they did not anticipate that the game would turn out to be as big as it is. Calling the "most ambitious game" they have ever created, they continued describing the game as one that provides "a unique and innovative multiplayer experience combining RPG and RTS gameplay which allows you to play, and use your gear seamlessly, across Xbox One and Windows 10." Aside from this, they also created a new world "full of grand stories and adventures," which has taken up so much of their development time.

While waiting for the open beta, interested gamers can still sign up for the closed beta by going through the game's official website. Those who are already part of the process are said to have received several updates already, such as additional heroes, creatures, quests and other content.

"Fable Legends" is published by Microsoft for gaming platforms Xbox One and Windows PC and will be released in 2016. It is the latest installment in the "Fable" series of games, which features a world of myth and magic, where players can choose to play the roles of four heroes and a villain.
