Jodi Arias' Life Behind Bars Revealed: Travis Alexander Murderer in Maximum Security 12 Feet by 7 Feet Cell

Seven years after murdering her on-and-off boyfriend Travis Alexander, the fate of Jodi Arias has finally been sealed. Though the convicted murderer has been spared the death penalty, she was sentenced to spend the rest of her natural life in prison with no possibility of parole.

After her sentence was handed down by Judge Sherry Stephens on Monday, April 13, Arias was transferred to her new home at Perryville Women's Prison in Goodyear, and a new booking photo of the convicted killer has been released. In contrast to her first mugshot which shows Arias smirking at the camera, her new booking photo shows her looking stone-faced and dressed in an orange prison uniform.

KTAR News revealed what Arias' life will be like behind bars. According to the website, she will be assigned a concrete cell measuring 12 feet by 7 feet. For now, she will be under maximum security, but every year she will be evaluated to determine if she can be reclassified to a lower level of security in prison.

Arias cell will contain a bed, a mattress, a sink, and a toilet. She will be able to see sunlight and moonlight through two very thin window slits.

Initially, Arias will be locked up for 23 hours a day with very little entertainment. Her cell reportedly has an electrical and cable outlet on the wall, which she will eventually be able to plug a television and/or radio into. Her cell will never be equipped with an air conditioner—she will have to rely on a swamp cooler for relief from the heat.

Arias will still be allowed to draw or write, but she is not allowed to profit from her crime. Arizona statute dictates that she can't profit from selling her story.

When it comes to visitors, Arias will have very few in the beginning, but if she shows good behavior then she will reportedly be able to increase her privileges, which include visitation, activities, and the ability to purchase items from the prison store.
