'Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash' Is Fun & Crazy To Play With 16 Playable Characters

The "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash" game will be released in the US on Nov. 21 and it is crazier and playful than the previous installments. The creators have consciously put in fun elements and players will be able to play as Waluigi, Rosalina, and more. A new feature has also been added - the ability to use Mega Mushrooms to grow the characters and give them an advantage over their opponents.

There are sixteen playable characters in "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash." Players will be delighted to know that Toadette, Rosalina, and Green Sprixie Princess are now included in that list. From some screenshots, it would seem that the other players include Bowser Jr. and Dry Bowser whom gamers can unlock during normal play.

There are some similarities in the game when compared to previous ones like the Mario Tennis Open, which had chance shots. The chance shots are being incorporated in this game too. A new shot called the Jumpshot is also featured in this game in which players can smash the ball and hurl it straight out of court.

Just like the 3DS version, "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash," colourful glowing spots pop up on the court every now and then. These spots help players do a "powered-up trick shot." The player has to use the correct shot and angle combination while standing on the spots.

Another super technique is the 'titular Ultra Smash technique,' in which players can do a spectacular jump shot when the situation comes about to use it.

In two player singles mode, the GamePad becomes the second screen for the first player and the TV is for the second player. "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash" is compatible with amiibo and does not support motion controls. When the compatible amiibo is entered into the game, that character shows up as a trainable computer partner.

"Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash" is the first original console version of "Mario Tennis" and is priced at $49.99 and releases in the US on Nov. 21 for Wii U.
