Miami Heat roster news: Chris Bosh retirement rumors

The Miami Heat was not able to close out their first series against the Charlotte Hornets in Games 3 and 4, and now everything is all tied up once again. But prior to the start of the playoffs, no one thought that Dwyane Wade and company could blow out the Hornets in the first two games at home, not without forward Chris Bosh.

The kind approach the franchise is embracing right now sends a message to everyone else in the league – Bosh is suffering from a condition that should be a cause for major concern. If it really wasn't that serious, why wouldn't he talk to the media or at least release a statement or update of his status? The last time everyone heard from him was in March when he released a statement, clarifying that he no longer has active blood clots and is positive of making a return sometime in the playoffs. But the Heat, he still is out indefinitely.

While the 32-year old is consistently seen traveling with the team, there are rumors that he may eventually decide to retire at the end of the playoffs. The front office does not keep its willingness to support Bosh a secret, but some sources are saying that they aren't really on the same page when it comes to the treatment of the veteran's condition. Proof of this is the fact that they didn't allow him to play even if a doctor outside of the organization already cleared him of any risk.

The biggest issue so far are the difference of expert medical opinion in his case. Majority of the doctors he consulted said that he needs to continue taking blood thinners for several months and he took that advice. But in the process of taking those blood thinners, he no longer can participate in any contact sport because it puts him at risk.

This offseason should be the most important months of Bosh's life and career. If the treatment he's getting right now will lead to improvements, the Heat will have him back next season.
