'Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Cast Includes Kat Graham, Brandon Mychal Smith, and More

"Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is set to air next year, Nickelodeon has announced. The voice cast for the upcoming 2D-animated series has been confirmed as well.

The crime-fighting brothers Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo are off to new adventures to seek further mystical secrets of New York City.

"Ballers" actor Omar Miller has been cast as Raphael, the oldest among the lot. Ben Schwartz from "Park and Recreation" will portray the self-professed coolest brother, Leonardo, while "Silicon Valley" star Josh Brener plays the tech wizard and mechanic, Donatello. "You're the Worst" actor Brandon Mychal Smith will play the youngest brother, Michelangelo, an artist who is also great on the skateboard.

Joining the gang is "The Vampire Diaries" actress Kat Graham who will voice April O'Neil, the turtles' best friend and ally. Eric Bauza, best known for playing Stimpy on "Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon," will portray Splinter, the giant rat who is the boys' sensei and father figure.

This band of brothers will discover a new mystical world beneath the streets of the big apple. And throughout their journey, they will cross paths with new enemies and new allies.

Veteran voice actor Rob Paulsen will direct the forthcoming series. "Samurai Jack" character designer Andy Suriano co-produces the series with Ant Ward, the supervising producer of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

The series will have 26 episodes.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is based on a comic book series which first launched in the '80s. It was turned into a computer-animated show by Nickelodeon which debuted in 2012. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" ran for five seasons in two years. A film helmed by Michael Bay launched in 2014 and a sequel followed in 2016. Will Arnett and Megan Fox starred in both live-action movies.

"Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" hits the small screen in 2018.
