Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Rumors: IP68 Certification, Bigger 5.58 Screen and Better Camera

The latest leak that came out about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is the protection that will reportedly carry. According to a Forbes report, the phablet is said to have the same protection that the Samsung Galaxy S7 has, which is IP68 indicating it is dust-resistant and water-resistant.

If reports are true, the Galaxy Note 6 will be the first phablet of Samsung to have that protection. Only the latest flagship phones of Samsung are IP68 certified.

When it comes to the phablet's screen, rumors range from the outrageous (6-inch with 4K support) to the more likely, which is a screen that larger than 5.5 inches and has a Quad HD display. According to another report in TechAdvisor, the phone will likely have two types of processors available depending on where it is released. This is the same configuration as the Note 5, which offered a Qualcomm Snapdragon variant and an Exynos variant. In the case of the Note 6, it is rumored to be powered by either an Exynos 8890 chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset. Another rumor points to a 6 GB RAM.

A Tech Radar report also cites that Samsung is planning something big in the camera department. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge clearly delivered when it comes to camera performance but the report says that a better camera is in the works for the Note 6 and eventually the S8. The megapixel count of the new camera may be bumped up to 24-megapixel, while its aperture will be a much smaller f/1.4 which makes for better performance in low light.

According to a Forbes report, the nature of the leaks and rumors about the Note 6 is indicative of what most consumers missed with last year's Note 5. The Galaxy Note 5 notably took out many features that made it a hit among phablet users, such as microSD storage support. The report essentially that Samsung should deliver a better-featured and more impressive Note 6 in order for the Galaxy Note to regain the glory it once had.
