Samsung Galaxy S8 News: Users Complain About Not Receiving Text Messages

Several owners of the Samsung Galaxy S8 have been complaining about not receiving text messages.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S8 took to a thread on Reddit about how they haven't been receiving some of their messages, or how there's a delay in receiving them. It appears that the glitch happens regardless which network they're using — Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, or AT&T — or which messaging app they utilize on their phone.

Some Samsung Galaxy S8 users revealed that they found out they weren't receiving their messages when it would notify on their computers, but won't appear on their smartphones.

Reddit users shared the different mishaps they've experienced because their Samsung Galaxy S8 hasn't been receiving messages properly.

User SealTeamDeltaForce69 shared that he texted a girl in his class to ask her out but was completely ignored. However, the girl started sending signals to him, such as adding him on Facebook, which confused him. He thinks that his Samsung Galaxy S8 just didn't receive the girl's reply to his text.

Meanwhile, Reddit user turbomuffler said that he drove for an hour to attend an event that ended up postponed, which he wasn't notified because his phone didn't receive the message.

Some of the complainants found a way to fix the issue of not receiving messages on their Samsung device.

User matt-presley said that he used to have the same problem with his Samsung device. However, since he changed his Samsung phone's default messaging app settings and disabled Advanced Messaging, he hasn't missed receiving any of his texts.

Another Reddit user, PhantomNapkin, said that the issue with Samsung not receiving some of the text messages is because all of the phone's third party apps — such as Google messages and Textra — "do not support advanced messages," which makes matt-presley's suggestion work.

However, it appears that turning off the Advanced Messaging isn't applicable to everyone. Tech Radar predicts that Samsung will have to release a new Android operating system update to take care of the problem.
