'The Affair' Season 3 Premiere Date, News: Series Executive Offers Updates on the Show's Premiere Date

Ever since Showtime announced that it has renewed its hit drama TV series "The Affair" for Season 3, fans have been asking as to when they can expect to see the new installment back on the small screen.

Fortunately, an update arrived this past week from the show's executive producer Sarah Treem.

During the weekend, Treem took to her social media to converse with her followers about the release of Season 3. In one of her responses, she said that she said that the premiere will likely to air a bit later than what has been expected and this may have something to do with her pregnancy.

Taking hints from what Treem said, it looks like the fans should not be holding their just yet. For the showrunner, her main focus right now is her maternal duties with her bundle of joy. She went on to thank the network for their decision and support on her maternity leave.

"…I am incredibly grateful for their decision in an industry that is usually indifferent to maternity leave," she said in her Twitter.

As with the show itself, new rumors surfaced indicating that Scotty might be making an appearance in one of the future episodes of the show's third installment. This is despite the fact that the character, played by Colin Donnell, is already dead.

In his latest interview with Digital Spy, Donnell seem to give hints of Scott's reappearance. He did, however, clarify that there's still no guarantee at this point.

"I haven't had any discussions, but they do certainly play with time a bit over there," the actor said. "As far as I know right now, Scotty is very much dead...and I think the car crash was pretty good evidence of that!"

The 33-year-old is currently tied with NBC's hit medical drama series, "Chicago Med."
