'The Ancient Magus' Bride' Episode 12 Spoilers: Chise to Meet Old Dragon Friend Again?

It seems that Chise is about to meet an old friend on the next episode of the Japanese anime series, "The Ancient Magus' Bride." Can she make it back home soon enough to tell Elias everything that's on her mind?

The series is hitting its halfway point with the upcoming episode titled, "Better To Ask The Way Than Go Astray," and the preview shows that Chise is about to encounter the old dragon, Nevin, whom she has accompanied on his last flight several episodes ago. What could have happened that has made it possible for Chise to meet a dead dragon?

The previous episode saw Chise carving her staff from a branch she took from the tree that grew over Nevin's grave. It seems that she will finally be able to finish this task and may have, for some reason, forged a connection between herself and the old dragon.

At one point, it also looks like Chise may finally be able to say out loud what's been on her mind, and thus better process her feelings towards her new life, her new future, and the thought of going home to Elias.

What is it that she has been wanting to tell him all this time? What hidden truths about her life will she be revealing to the Thorn Sorcerer when she makes it back home? What advise will she get from an old and wizened dragon, and how will this affect her decision in the end?

Will she even go back to Elias at this point, or will her anxieties, driven by her own lack of regard for herself and her suspicion that Elias may be hiding things from her, make her decide to embark on a different path?

"The Ancient Magus' Bride" airs on Saturdays late night at 1:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX and late night at 3:38 a.m. JST on MBS. It also airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. JST on AT-X. A new episode of the mini-animation short companion series, "Maho-Yome" will be available on the following Tuesday on the series' official Twitter page. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes will also be available in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
