'The Witcher 3' DLC News: Blood and Wine DLC Box Art Released, No Official Release Date Yet

The much-awaited DLC of the role-playing game, "The Witcher 3" called Blood and Wine is still without a release date. Despite several reports saying that the DLC's release date has been leaked, pointing to a June 7 arrival, the game's developer CD Projekt Red has not made any official announcements as of yet. The DLC's box art has been made official, which the developer posted through its account on Twitter.

The image does not reveal much about the expansion's story line and what content it will bring, but according to a report in VG 24/7, it nevertheless "looked good." It showed the game's protagonist, Geralt, seated on what looked like a throne, with a wine goblet or glass in his left hand and a sword on his right hand. The wine goblet may either contain wine or blood, as the DLC title suggests. The other character featured in the image is a winged demon, which is one of the creatures found in the game.

Not much is known about Blood and Wine, except for the screenshots that the developer shared about the new area or region that the expansion will bring, Toussaint. According to GameSpot, the pack will reportedly include two Gwent decks with a total of 154 cards. The content will be sold not as physical discs but as a download code which will grant the gamer access to the DLC and additional content. Gamers need to have the base game in order to play the DLC, as this is not a stand-alone pack. CD Projekt Red has promised gamers with 20 hours of gameplay with the upcoming DLC.
