'The Witcher 3' DLC News: 'Blood And Wine' Region As Big As Skellige, DLC May Drop Before E3

The much anticipated DLC for "The Witcher 3" is becoming more and more intriguing as time passes. While CD Projekt Red has yet to announce when the DLC pack is arriving, fans of the game are already being treated to hints and teases about what new things to expect when it does arrive. The latest news hints that the size of the new region, Toussaint, will be as big as the Skellige Isles combined, according to a report in WCCFTech.

The report cited an interview with the game developer via a German website Gamestar, where CD Projekt Red mentioned that the Toussaint region where Geralt will be exploring in the upcoming DLC, is as big as the total area of all the Skellige Islands, which are actually six islands located off the coast of Verden and Cidaris in the game.

According to a VG 24/7 report, the islands of Skellige are one of the main areas of the game and is therefore a huge area to cover. If Toussaint is of the same area, this means that Geralt has a lot of ground to cover. The "Blood and Wine" DLC is bringing with it around 20 to 24 hours of gameplay, according to a report in Yibada.

Improved graphics for the game, especially the new area, is also expected with the DLC. Based on screenshots that were earlier released of Toussaint, the new region looks better graphics-wise compared to the other regions such as those introduced in the "Hearts of Stone" DLC.

The developer however did not give the exact release date for the DLC, but it is said to be expected before E3, which is happening in mid-June. According to Yibada, one possible release date is June 7, which is a week before the E3. Additional details about the DLC will be shared by CD Projekt Red sometime within May.
