'Titanfall 2' News, Update: Respawn Releases the First Trailer for Upcoming Title; Confirms Multiplatform Gameplay

The first teaser trailer for "Titanfall 2," which is the direct sequel to the popular shooter game from Respawn Entertainment and Electronics Arts, arrived earlier this week giving fans some substantial updates about the upcoming title.

The 49-second teaser, which can be seen below, features a voiceover talking about "the problem of being a hero" which, as pointed out, requires that the person must be "willing to die for what you believed in."

"If I were you, I wouldn't try so hard. You'll live longer."

A Titan can then be seen approaching what appears to be a pod. The door bears the name, James MacAllan, who, if fans can remember, appeared in the original game. The giant mech stopped as it faces the object. It then shoves a huge mech sword into the ground and the video cuts to show the logo of the next game, "Titanfall 2."

Eagle-eyed watchers can, perhaps, see that the phrase, "EHR Titanium Series" written on the side of the huge blade.

The teaser concluded to confirm that the full reveal of the game is coming on June 12, which happens to be the new EA Play events. IGN reported that the open-to-the-public affair will take place simultaneously in Los Angeles and London during the E3 event. This means that the entertainment company won't be having a booth at E3, and instead will have fans come to the said venues to play their upcoming games for free.

Back to "Titanfall 2," the video also revealed that the sequel won't be exclusively released to Microsoft as it will now also be made available to play in Sony's PlayStation 4.

The news won't necessarily come as a surprise. Last month, Respawn founder and CEO Vince Zampella told IGN, in a separate report, on the game's multiplatform support.

"No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform," he said.

As of the release date, "Titanfall 2" will likely to hit the store shelves by the end of March 2017.
