In a statement released Thursday, the Ohio-based Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer characterized his organization as "amongst the many ministries still serving families today that are connected to the network of culture-changing organizations founded or inspired by Dr. Dobson." Baer counted himself and his wife "amongst the generation encouraged by Doc and Shirley to raise our kids in the joy of the Lord."

"Generations of Americans have been blessed by his innovation, fearlessness, and biblical wisdom," he insisted. "Through his radio ministry and writings, Dr. Dobson's voice has reached millions of households over the last five decades, and in the process has given strength, encouragement, and inspiration to countless Christians to find their voice in the cultural and political debates of our day."
