Family Research Council President Tony Perkins took to his X account to celebrate the news of the hostages' release, calling it a "day of unspeakable joy."

While calling the hostage release an "encouraging first step toward peace in the Middle East," he cautioned that the world can't be "deceived into believing that peace will endure while evil is allowed to linger at the borders."

"We must also remain realistic: Scripture makes clear that true and lasting peace will come only when the Prince of Peace reigns," Perkins said. "Until that day, we are called to pursue a managed peace — one grounded in strength, guided by truth, and anchored in biblical reality."

Perkins said he met with some hostage families in Israel and hosted some at the FRC headquarters in Washington.

"I am grateful, too, for President Trump, who, aided by the prayers of millions, helped secure the hostage release," Perkins said. "[J]oin me in praying for the hostages as they recover from this horrific trauma" and to "pray for the 28 hostage families who will be receiving the remains of their loved ones killed by Hamas."
