Reducing abortions, faith and unity: Americans share their hopes for Trump’s presidency

Pro-lifer seeks pardon for activists convicted under FACE Act
A pro-life advocate named Judy told CP that she hopes Trump would pardon the 21 activists charged under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1994. The advocate also said that she wants to see the Republican nominee abolish the FACE Act.
Judy said she is acquainted with several of the activists serving time in connection with the blockade of the Washington Surgi-Clinic, including Lauren Handy, who was sentenced to nearly five years in prison last year.
Under the Biden administration, 21 pro-life activists faced federal charges for conduct that included blocking the entrances to abortion facilities. Some pro-life advocates and Republican lawmakers argue that the Biden administration did not do enough to prosecute activists who attacked churches or pro-life pregnancy resource centers.
“I wish [Trump] would do what God says and obey all the laws of God and not compromise,” Judy said about how she hopes the new administration will handle the abortion issue.
