'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Release Date, News: FPS Title to Arrive on Later-Gen Consoles, Seattle Seahawks Star Marshawn Lynch to Appear

Activision's next entry to the "Call of Duty" gaming franchise, the upcoming "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," is expected to arrive for the current-gen gaming consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as on PC.

However, recent news have come out saying that the new title from Treyarch (which is the sequel to their 2012 instalment) will also arrive for those players who were not yet able to make the transition.

According to the official Activision update blog site (via IGN), Black Ops 3 will also be experienced in the later-gen consoles from Microsoft and Sony, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, respectively.

Making this thing possible are the developers from Beenox and Mercenary Technology. However, there will still be some gameplay disparity between the two sets of ports. The site mentioned that PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game will only support cooperative play for two-players, unlike the PS4 and XB1's four-player campaign co-op.

"There will also be some other features and functionality built specifically for the new generation of consoles that cannot be supported on Xbox 360 and PS3," Activision said in a statement.

Black Ops III and Seattle Seahawks fans will get to see their favorite NFL player, Marshawn Lynch, in the upcoming game.

Lynch, who is a die-hard fan of Call of Duty, will portray a villain designed in his likeness in Black Ops III, according to ESPN. His character is a mercenary found at a bar in Singapore and will be joined by other guns-for-hire.

"I've been in the Super Bowl, movies, music videos, Madden," the athlete said. "But to have your own character in Duty is, I mean, it's almost like you arrived."

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is slated to hit the shelves this coming November 6, 2015.
