Chris Brown Has Probation Revoked, Still Faces Jail Time Over Assault Arrest

Chris Brown attended a progress hearing this week stemming from his 2009 assault conviction and had his probation revoked due to his recent arrest in Washington D.C.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin revoked the singer's probation for his involvement in the altercation that took place in October.

The troubled singer was not sent back to jail because the judge felt he was making good progress while currently enrolled at a rehabilitation facility, according to The Contra Costa Times.

In addition to his 90-day rehab stay, the singer also has to complete 1,000 hours of community service and submit to regular drug tests.

Brown had previously stated that he suffers from attention deficit disorder and also struggles with depression. The judge also told Brown to stop using medical marijuana to which he has a prescription.

Still, Brown could still face additional penalties during his upcoming court appearance related to the October assault arrest.

The Los Angeles Times stated that the singer is presently scheduled to appear in court to discuss the alleged assault on Jan. 8. Brown was still on probation from his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna and if he is found guilty the R&B singer could be facing up to four years in prison.

D.C. police spokesman Paul Metcalf said Brown got into a physical altercation and was accused of breaking the nose of Parker Isaac Adams, 20, near the W Hotel located on K and 15th street on Oct. 30.

Chris Hollosy, a 35-year-old male who was with Brown, was also arrested in the incident and faces the same assault charges.

The confrontation came after the victim boarded the singer's tour bus and attempted to sneak into a photograph that Brown was taking with two women, according to E! News.
