Hershael York, dean of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary School of Theology in Louisville, Kentucky, told the Associated Press that he had no problem with the Bibles being signed.

York added that he has occasionally been asked to sign Bibles after a sermon and does so even though he does not feel comfortable with the request.

“If it’s meaningful to them to have signatures in their Bible, I’m willing to do that,” he said.
