Google Publishes Photos Taken Using Pixel 2 Camera

It seems that Google has taken its camera game to the next level — good enough to pose a serious challenge to its competitors in the smartphone arena.

After the official unveiling of the new Pixel 2 last week, the tech giant published a set of unedited photos taken using the smartphone's camera. According to a report from Android Authority, a Google employee from the Camera department published an album of photos showcasing the impressive quality and prowess of the Pixel 2.

Product manager Isaac Reynolds published the album on Google Photos over the weekend using a feature called "original quality." The feature, however, will only be accessible via the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL up until 2020, the report added.

As for the uploaded pictures, they present different kinds of compositions such as low-light shots, moving objects, landscapes, and the Portrait shooting mode. Furthermore, Phone Arena reported that the Pixel 2's new Portrait mode uses a single camera that is powered by dual pixels. The technology was only used in the past for faster focusing, the report said.

In addition, the Pixel 2 is capable of producing remarkable color balance, white balance, and dynamic range.

Apart from the impressive camera features, the Pixel 2 also offers some solid specs. The smartphone comes with an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. It has a size of 5.0 inches, 68.9 square-centimeter with a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.

It runs on Android 8.0 with a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset. It also has an Octa-core CPU and an Adreno 540 GPU. It doesn't offer, however, a memory card slot but it tries to compensate with its 64GB or 128 GB internal memory, depending on the model.

Much like its contemporaries in the market, the Pixel 2 also features a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back of the device. It is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 2700 mAh battery.

The Google Pixel 2 hits the stores on Oct.19, and its price starts at $649.
