'Gotham' Season 4 Spoilers: Gordon Faces Danger While Trying to Prove GCPD's Power

In the next episode of "Gotham" season 4, fans can expect to see Gordon (Ben McKenzie) facing several dangerous challenges in his attempt to show that the Gotham City Police Department is still important.

After the events shown in the premiere of "Gotham" season 4 last week, things are getting a little messy and Gordon is now under a lot of pressure to prove that the GCPD still has its power and is in control.

Desperate to prove his point, Gordon will think of catching Jonathan Crane (Charlie Tahan), also known as The Scarecrow, to get the job done.

To those who have not yet caught up with the show, as a recap, The Scarecrow's main job was to spread fear among the people of Arkham – something that was also obviously implied by his alias. This means that in order for Gordon to prove GCPD's worth and power, he may have to use rather unconventional ways to catch him.

The Scarecrow's appearance in the premiere episode last week, titled "Pax Penguina," was the character's first ever appearance in the show since season 1.

In the first episode, the city was plagued with a series of robberies. Gordon was starting to feel concerned when he realized that the way the crimes were carried out were identical to how The Scarecrow operated.

As Gordon tries to find The Scarecrow, spoilers hint he will meet "a dangerous situation" and will soon have to fight off his inner "lunatics and demon."

Meanwhile, the gangster femme-fatale that is Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) is set to return this week as she was also mentioned in the first episode.

According to spoilers, her return will greatly affect the weapon business operations run by Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas). The two rising crime leaders will have to think about the possible danger of joining Barbara in the weapon business.

Catch "Gotham" season 4 every Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
