Kelly Clarkson Mushrooms Dinner Helped Live Performance?

Kelly Clarkson's Inauguration Day performance has made waves across the nation this week, and some are crediting the singer's diet.

While Beyonce Knowles is catching media flack for pre-recording her performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" on Monday, Clarkson's rendition of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" has been praised endlessly.

The day before singing the patriotic tune at President Obama's inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Monday, Clarkson dined at one of the city's Italian eateries, according to TMZ.

"She and a few friends carbo-loaded at Buca di Beppo in D.C.," reported the gossip website in an article with the headline, "Kelly Clarkson Stuffed Mushrooms… Key to Singing Live."

It was there that Clarkson and her friends enjoyed dishes that included lasagna, bruschetta, meatballs, spaghetti, chicken Parmesan, and most importantly, stuffed mushrooms.

The next day, Clarkson delivered a strong and passionate version of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" before over 800,000 spectators.

While it is unknown what led to Clarkson's successful performance, the singer admitted that she had been nervous.

"Wow, I was incredibly nervous and cold ha," wrote the "American Idol" winner.

Meanwhile, despite the backlash over Beyonce's performance, Clarkson tweeted her opinion of the Grammy Award winning singer.

"Me and B just hangin' out," Clarkson posted to Twitter on Monday, including a photo of herself with Beyonce. "don't worry about it. Seriously, God did good. She is so beautiful!"

Furthermore, Clarkson shared many of her Inauguration Day experiences with thousands of Twitter followers on Monday.

"What an honor to be a part of history," Clarkson posted. "Obama's presence was powerful and his words unforgettable. It's a proud day for America!"

Later that day, she added: "Just partied at the White House. I kid you not, Michelle Obama stood up and got the party started… seriously cool First Lady."
