Khloe Kardashian Husband Lamar Odom's Trade Deal Nixed
Contrary to reports, Lamar Odom has not been traded to the New Orleans Hornets and at this time remains a Laker.
Thursday it was reported that the Los Angeles Lakers would trade power forward Odom, for Hornets All-Star guard Chris Paul, a trade that NBA officials nixed at the last minute.
Also part of the three-team trade was Odom's teammate, power forward Pau Gasol.
Gasol was supposed to be traded to the Houston Rockets, and several draft picks were expected to join Odom with the Hornets.
NBA officials reportedly killed the deal after considering the terms of the new collective-bargaining agreement, which league spokesman Tim Frank denied.
"It is not true that owners killed the deal...It wasn't even discussed at the Board (of Governors) meeting. The league office declined to make the trade for basketball reasons," Frank said in the L.A. Times.
Odom, who was left bitter after learning of his fate, admitted he was surprised when he spoke with Brad Turner.
"They don’t want my services, for whatever reason...I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I was proud to be a Laker, so I’ll try to help them in the process as much as possible," Odom said.
Despite Odom's apparent disappointment, wife Khloe Kardashian gave a more positive response.
Fans expressed their concerns after the Internet was abuzz with rumors that suggested Odom had already been traded.
News and fashion blog wetpaint.com ran a story with the headline, "Khloe Kardashian’s Husband Lamar Odom Has Been Traded to New Orleans Hornets."
The headline forced fans to question Kardashian about whether she would move to Louisiana with her husband as a result of the trade.
Kardashian took to Twitter to assure fans she was fine with the prospect of Odom being traded.
"I can survive anywhere... People are acting cray! LOL New Orleans is a great place. As long as I'm with Lam I'm good," she wrote adding "I would go anywhere with my hubby!"
