A National Public Radio host issued a correction after the Catholic school shooter was identified as a "he" during the taxpayer-funded news outlet's broadcast.

Ailsa Chang, host of NPR's "All Things Considered," made the comment following an interview with Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, in which Klobuchar referred to Westman using the masculine pronoun.

As the interview concluded, Chang said it was "unclear" whether Westman was a male or female.

"And just a point of clarification, Sen. Klobuchar referenced the shooter as 'he,'" said Chang. "Although police have identified a suspect, it's still unclear at this time what that person's gender is or how they identify."
