NAE Invites Students to the Capital for Supreme Education

WASHINGTON – Evangelical college students across the nation are encouraged to partake in the 50th Annual Christian Student Leadership Conference and discover how to become the leaders for the next generation from political and biblical perspectives.

The Christian Leadership Conference, sponsored and hosted by the National Association of Evangelicals, features visits to the White House, the Capitol, the State Department, and the Supreme Court, as well as helpful insights from Richard Cizik – vice-president of governmental affairs for the NAE and a top evangelical Washington insider.

The NAE has had its governmental affairs office in the heart of D.C. for over 20 years, but its emphasis on engaging politics and civic society grew in recent years following the election of President George W. Bush.

Early this year, the NAE released a booklet encouraging Evangelicals to partake in public life and commit to political and social action “in a manner consistent with biblical teachings.”

The students at the Jan. 16-20, 2006 leadership conference will have the chance to do just that as they listen to influential speakers and tour the capital.

“Invest one week of your life to change the rest of your life!” wrote Cizik in a pamphlet for the conference.

According to the CSLC brochure, which was made available online last week on the NAE website, the conference costs $500. Students must pay the $100 initial fee and register by Dec. 1, 2005.
